About John Challenor
My wife, Gwen, and I have been married for 46 years and have 4 daughters and 4 grandchildren, of whom I could not be prouder. Home for the last 36 years has been in Ringwood just outside the beautiful New Forest.
After working for 33 years for the same company (mainly as an insurance risk assessor), I decided living modestly was better than working and took a voluntary redundancy/ early retirement deal aged 50 !
I have been drawing /painting on and off most of my life. A self-taught amateur working mainly in graphite, pencil pastel and lately in ink and coloured pencils.
2 years ago, aged 70, my family and friends finally persuaded me to start promoting and trying to sell my artwork.
Better late than never!
I drew this sketch many years ago from the painting "Danse a Bougival" by Pierre-Auguste Renoir. One of my favourite artists.
